- Temperature: 40 - 110°F / 5 - 45°C
- pH: 3.0 - 11.0
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): Max 1000 mg/L
- Turbidity: < 1.0 NTU
- Silt Density Index (SDI): Max < 4.0
- Hardness: < 5 GPG
- Iron: < 0.1
Product Lifespan: - Membrane Lifetime: 15-24 months, depending on feed water quality - Shelf Life: 2 years in original sealed package
Important Notes: 1. Do not freeze the product. 2. Flush the new membrane for 30 minutes before use, as it contains a protective material. This will help the TDS of the pure water to reach the optimal level. 3. If your water is chlorinated, we recommend using a Carbon/Sediment Pre-Filter. Residual chlorine can damage the membrane. If water hardness is high, install a water softener before the RO system.
Why Choose Reverse Osmosis Filtration? HIDROTEK RO membranes reject impurities down to 0.0001 micron, providing high permeate flow and stable salt rejection. It can remove up to 98% of contaminants (minimum 96% rejection), including heavy metals, fluoride, calcium, magnesium, lead, colloids, chromium, and nitrates. The system is NSF/ANSI Standard 58 certified.
Why HIDROTEK Brand? - Universal standard size (11.75" length, 1.75" diameter) that fits most 2" ID residential RO membrane housings - NSF certified Thin-Film Composite RO membrane with higher water production rate - Wastewater to pure water ratio of 1:2
Additional FAQs:
Q: What are the dimensions of the RO membrane? A: The membrane dimensions are 11.75" overall length and 1.75" diameter, fitting standard 2" ID membrane housings.
Q: What is the lifetime of the membrane? A: For most tap water (200-500 ppm TDS), the suggested lifetime is 24 months. The actual replacement frequency depends on usage and feed water quality. For high-quality water (< 200 ppm TDS), the membrane may last up to 36 months. In hard water areas, replacement may be needed every 6-12 months.
Q: Can I use this for water over 1000 ppm TDS or very hard well water? A: Yes, you can use the system even if the TDS is up to 2000 ppm, but the membrane may need to be replaced more frequently, around every 12 months or sooner.
Q: Can this be used for brackish water (5000 ppm) or ocean water (35000 ppm)? A: No, this system is designed for residential tap water use only. For brackish or seawater applications, please contact Geekpure for industrial-grade RO membranes.
Q: What's included in the package? A: The package includes 2 x 100 GPD RO membranes. Membrane housing, wrench, and flow restrictor are sold separately.
